Downtown Orlando contains a number of high rises that dot the
downtown area. The main route through downtown is Orange Avenue, a
one-way street on which traffic flows to the south. It is known by
locals for its nightlife and for the tall office buildings that dot
the roadway. Other main roads include Magnolia Avenue, Central
Boulevard, Hughey Avenue, and Colonial Drive (SR 50). Two main
highways that run through downtown are Interstate 4 and the
East-West Expressway (Toll SR 408). Downtown is home to many urban
amenities such as an 18,000 seat arena known as the TD Waterhouse
Centre which hosts the Orlando Magic NBA team and the Orlando
Predators Arena Football League team. Downtown Orlando has many
parks. Lake Eola, known for its fountain, also has swan boats for
rent. Uptown is very similar to the Central Business District but is
still developing a character. It has much open space left for an
area of downtown, yet has high aspirations too. With, among other
things, the significant planned retail space, Uptown is expected to
drastically change it's skyline from the current three under 300'
buildings. Lake Ivanhoe at the North has a significant gay community
with several nightclubs and a number of antique shops which is

College
Park..

Dartmouth. Most of College Park consists of a mix of bungalows
and turn-of-the-20th century manses and centers along Edgewater
Drive and environs, where newcomers mix with longtime residents in
inviting shops and restaurants. Perhaps one of College Park’s most
famous residents was writer Jack Kerouac, who shared a back-porch
apartment with his mother at the time his famous On the Road was
published. The Kerouac Project, headed by local businesses, raised
funds to buy and restore the house, now hosting a “writer in
residence” program.
MetroWest..
MetroWest is a family-oriented, master planned golf community
situated on 1800 acres in southwest Orlando. The concept of

developers outlined the vision of a true urban village in which
people could live comfortably, conduct business, play championship
golf, and admire an impeccably maintained landscape, while still
having the benefit of the most convenient location in all of Central
Florida. What was once only a vision is now a reality, manifested in
the vibrant, thriving master-planned community of Metrowest in
Orlando Florida. Approximately 1200 acres in Metrowest is either
being developed or has been developed already with single family
homes, multifamily residential or commercial real estate. The
remaining 600 acres are reserved for green space, including golf
courses and roadways. The MetroWest master plan assures that its
business community will have every advantage - easy access to
downtown Orlando, the International Airport, and all major
transportation routes. Just as important, Metrowest is exempt from
concurrency, allowing for an expeditious permitting process. With
its location in Orlando's thriving southwest corridor, Metrowest is
the strategic location for business in Central Florida.

The city of Oviedo is currently planning a brand new downtown
development just southeast of the current 'old downtown'. The new
town center will be a mixed-use development including townhomes,
single family living, apartment homes, restaurants, retail, and a
planned amphitheatre. Oviedo is known for its historic downtown
shopping center known for its antique shops, boutiques, barber shop
and a population of about thirty chickens which roam around
the surrounding area. A new local legend, rumor has it these
chickens first came to Oviedo in 1994 when a lone chicken appeared
on a nearby construction lot. Construction crews fed the chicken -
and soon it gave birth to 14 chickens, which have grown into the
population seen in Oviedo today. Oviedo is a charming location
prefect for raising a family. With a variety of developments and
exceptional schools to choose from Oviedo is the perfect place to

Sanford
Sanford is a city in and the county seat of Seminole County. An
older agricultural and resort area, Sanford is home to the Delta
Connection Academy, Seminole Community College and the Central
Florida Zoological Park. The opening of Disney World in 1971 shifted
the economy of Central Florida further toward tourism and
residential development, the epicenter of which is Orlando. But
because of Sanford's former preeminence as a trade center, the city
retains a significant collection of older commercial and residential
architecture, on streets shaded by live oaks hung with Spanish moss.
Its charm has made Sanford a setting for movies, including My Girl,
1991, Passenger 57, 1992, Rosewood, 1997, and Monster, 2003.
